Prenancy & Newborn

Pittsfield, MA Maternity Session – Kelly & Brett

Before this winter storm came through, I was VERY lucky to be doing an outdoor session in January. It doesn’t happen very often – maybe never! And I was VERY lucky to be doing the session with this beautiful woman! If you can believe it, this is baby #4 for Kelly. I have done her maternity and 1st year pics with all 3 of her kids and now will do the same for baby #4. When I arrived at her house chaos was erupting. Kids were playing hide and seek on me and the dog was running off with one my shoes. And despite all this, she was ready to go and looked amazing! Literally glowing. We did some pics inside with the kiddos and then just Kelly, Brett & I headed to the nature trail area down the road. I am honored that they call me back time and time again to capture their family with each growing step. I am so lucky to have such wonderful clients who value photography and make it a priority for themselves and their children.

MJ } Newborn Session – Canton CT

It was a chilly day in December when I met Emily for her maternity session. Despite being cold, she looked absolutely radiant! Her little man arrived just recently (a little late!) and was the most cooperative newborn I’ve had yet. At two weeks old, he had the most relaxed personality and I think it’s a direct reflection of his parents. They were all wonderful to work with!

Charlie } Connecticut Baby Session

Little Charlie decided to make his way into the world a bit early. At his photo shoot he was about 7 weeks old – and still a tiny peanut!  He was awake for most of his portraits, and very expressive.  He makes the cutest faces!  I just love this series of him stretching.

Pure Sweetness

Absolutely Adorable!

Dalton – Connecticut Baby Photography

Dalton came into this world with quite an entrance. He gave his parents a scare early on and it’s one they will surely never forget. Hearing their story of Dalton’s heart surgery brought me back to a my own personal experience when my son was born. I saw the same fear in their eyes that I had in mine. My son had a cleft lip and palate that required numerous surgeries during his first year. As hard and scary as that was then, it has only made us stronger now. When something happens to your child it makes you feel the most vulnerable you have ever felt. And I really have my son to thank for showing me how strong I can be. I didn’t realize when he was born that he had a wild spirit, that of a fighter. And I see that so much more now that he’s 6. The way he can be so stubborn, and so determined and the way he shrugs off bumps and bruises like it’s nothing. I saw this same spirit in Dalton. This sequence of photos is my absolute favorite.

Carisa – Connecticut Maternity and Newborn Photography

I first met Carisa at her baby shower at The Waverly Inn in Cheshire. She was the most fashionable Momma I’ve met! She had on a black dress and some hot high heels – nothing like I wore when I was prego! The amount of pink in the room left no one wondering if she was having a girl or a boy :) I remember my excitement the first time I was expecting and we found out it was a girl. All the pink clothes and shoes…I couldn’t get enough of it! I totally loved that during her maternity session she brought little pieces of clothing that were personalized for Harper. We met at the Wadsworth Mansion in Middletown. The excitement radiated off of her and Mike and it poured on to me like I was back 9 years ago and pregnant with my baby girl. And just recently, I got to experience their happiness again when I met Harper for her newborn session. She is, of course, a little fashionista herself. Even has a bling binky.
Meet Harper, in all her new baby glory. Chubby cheeks, little toes – perfection.

This kid is so cool already at just 2 weeks old. He’s got a cool name, cool room and very cool parents. And he’s so cute I can’t even stand it! His parents had him undressed and ready to rock when I got there. It was nice and toasty in his room so he was a master at sleeping for the first part of the session. (Tough baby life, I know)
I’m totally loving the newborn sessions lately. Stay tuned for more newborn photography to come!

My 3 minutes of fame on Better Connecticut…

Hooray! I was on Better Connecticut this past Wed. (February 4th). It was such a great experience! They came out and filmed me doing a newborn session. They interviewed me while I was setting up and shooting my session, which was great. Everyone at News Channel 3 was wonderful and made me feel very comfortable during the interview. (I was a tad bit nervous!) I must admit, it’s very strange seeing and listening to yourself on TV! Thanks so much to Dina for allowing everyone to come into her home (especially weeks after having a baby – we all know what that’s like :) ) You can check out the video at:

Here’s a few of my favorites from the session and also the one they showed on Better CT!
