As you may recall, Last year I posted some pics of my photowalk in Hartford, CT. This year I picked out a few images that one person or another mentioned that they liked and I am going to post them below. I would like you to leave a comment telling me which two you like the best. First and foremost, The PHOTO WALK is on Saturday! I don’t know if anyone is planning on joining Jennifer and I in New Haven, but if you do, then you will just be hanging out with me. Jennifer had something come up and she will not be able to attend the walk. If you did sign up and you want to meet up and compare shots, then leave me a comment and I will email you back.

On a very serious note… if you are planning on having a session with Jenn this year, the rush is on. Every year about this time the phone begins to ring a bit more and the emails start to pile up. In the last week, we have begun filling Jenn’s calendar for the remainder of 2009. As you may or may not know, Jenn shuts the business down starting December 1st though January 1st in order to spend the holidays with family. Last year in November we had to turn away customers who were looking for holiday pictures simply because we were all booked up. Don’t let this happen to you. There are still plenty of session openings left before December, but do not wait until November 1st to call!

Lastly, another promotion for you. Become a fan of Jennifer Langdon Photography on Facebook and get $10 off your session fee. Also, for every friend you have on your profile, we will give you an additional dollar (per friend, max of 40) off a 2009 session fee. So.. all in all, you could save up to $50 dollars off a session just by becoming a fan of Jennfer Langdon Photography on Facebook. This will be an excellent way to share your preview images with all of your friends and family!

I participated in this event last year in Hartford (see images below) and I had the best time!! You may be asking yourself, what the heck is a photo walk? A photo walk consists of a large group of people with cameras walking a set route taking pictures of anything that interests them. Landscapes, portraits, macro, still life, street photography, photojournalism, architecture. You can get it all on one of these walks! The best part is you get to meet a bunch of really FRIENDLY people who also like photography, like to take pictures and like to share ideas. At the end of the walk, everyone meets up to talk, look at the shots people have taken and have some food/drinks at a local establishment. Overall it is a wonderful time and Jennifer and I would like you to join us.

The special thing about this particular event is that you will be part of a worldwide event. You see, there are over 900 walks going on in cites all around the world on this same day. There is no sign up fee, there are no special requirements, all you have to do is walk and take pictures. It does not matter what kind of camera you have…. have a professional camera (come along), have a point and shoot (come along), have a cell phone camera (come along), have a film camera (does anyone still have one of these , come along). Come hang out with Jenn and I, take some pictures of lovely New Haven and treat yourself to a nice dinner afterwords!

I can’t wait to meet all the new families, babies and couples I will cross paths with this year. I can’t wait to document all the exciting things that will go on in my own life. The big things and the little things. The soccer games, days at the beach and birthdays. I mean,memories are what we’re left with at the end of each year, right? Reminiscing about all the events that happened over the course of 12 months.
Boy, am I happy I have all the pictures to prove it.

And now….with a big drum roll (you can hear that in your head, right?)
I’m going to be blogging over the next week or two about different events that happened in my life during 2008. Family, friends…you get the idea. Things that were important in shaping the way my 2008 turned out. They may not be awarding winning pics, but they are my memories. And each one is special for that reason.

The first thing I’m going to start with is wrapping up December. I have been away from the computer as much as possible and enjoying my Christmas vacation. So, what have I been doing all month? Let’s see, besides filling print orders and mailing out gift certificates (I did do SOME business, lol) I also enjoyed shopping, baking and eating. Did I say eating? I meant visiting our family out of state. Our son also had his first set of stitches in Dec. And, with the way he is, not our last I’m sure. He decided to stand on a kitchen chair and tip over backwards smashing his face on the floor and biting his upper lip. We then headed to urgent care and he received 2 stitches and a nice, big, fat lip. Once I finished having a heart attack over that, he got home and proceeded to jump on my bed. Really? The stitches weren’t enough to learn your lesson? You can see a faint scratch on his cheek in the pic. That was from the fall. Ohh, to be 2 again.

Speaking of the pic, it was taken on our annual outing to get our Christmas tree. This year we had a great time picking out our tree. Not like last year…when my daughter left the tree farm kicking and screaming that we weren’t getting the tree SHE picked out. Mind you, it was maybe 4 feet tall and missing branches on one side. Great for Charlie Brown, but not the Langdon’s living room. She was just a peach this year….she even hugged her brother for this pic. Wow, was I lucky.
Man, it was a good year!
