This session took place on a humid evening last week. The sound of live music was coming from the patio of Lucky Lou’s in Old Wethersfield while this family was having a great time playing in the gardens behind the Webb-Deane-Stevens Museum.

Curious Chase

As soon as I arrived at his house Chase was studying me, and my camera. He had such a serious look on his face trying to figure out who I was and what I was up to. If only he could talk, I would have loved to hear what he had to say! But within a short while he was smiling it up and having a great time with his mom and dad.
This is the biggest, happiest smile – and it makes me smile too!

Sisters

I always love shooting at Wadsworth Mansion in Middletown. The picturesque grounds and the white mansion.
To some, it might even look like Daddy Warbucks’ house. And a certain someone at this session is IN LOVE with Annie so this was really the highlight of the session for her. (and no, I’m not talking about myself. Although I do LOVE Annie and saw the movie in the theater as soon as it came out. The original. Ok, I’m really dating myself here.)
The highlight of the session for me? Watching these two sisters loving each other. The little hugs they gave and the smiles on their faces….yeah, they’re so bffs.

Ok, I’m a MAJOR lover of thumb suckers. My kids never did it but I secretly wanted them to. My little cousin was a finger-over-the-nose kind of thumb sucker. I thought that was so cute – even back before I had kids. And Sadie is one of the most adorable thumb suckers I’ve seen yet. After I got my fill of thumb sucking pics I moved on to photographing all the other cuteness about her. Like the little curls in her hair, her snuggling with her favorite teddy and her big brown eyes. Happy 1st Birthday Sadie!

A little LILY pad

Spring is here at last! Well, at least for the weekend. It even felt a little bit like summer! Not only does nice weather mean I get to pull out all my tank tops from the back of my closet but, even better, I got to go outside with this fun family and run around in their yard! The occasion? Little Lily is turning 6 months! This is the second session of her first year package. And I must say, she has blossomed into an adorable girl! The gummy grin, the wavy hair and her bright eyes made this session too good to be true. I can’t wait to see her again in 6 months!

When I walked into their sunroom (to my delight) I saw this is AMAZING piece of work hanging over their couch. They had it custom made and it’s filled with photos I’ve taken over the past couple of years of their family. I just HAD to get a pic of it to show on the blog because I always find it interesting to see how people display photos in their homes. It was custom made by Daniel Magee, and designed by interior designer Lisa Leonardi “The Room Doctor”

The first time I had a session with Lidia was about six months ago. She was cute as a button then, and still is now! She warmed up much faster this time – by the end of the session I was reading Eric Carle books with her! 6 months makes such a big difference at this age. They are constantly changing and developing their own personalities. I’m so glad I had the opportunity to capture her again!

Brody

Meet Brody. He’s your typical fun-lovin 2 1/2 year old. He showed me his trucks, his bear and his blanket. He also showed me his favorite dinosaur book – complete with a big “ROAR” and all. We played and watched Dora. And in between all this, we had a photo session. I’m not sure Brody even noticed

One gorgeous family – one beautiful day. We met at Harkness for some late November pics. I’m loving the weather lately…it’s decided to cooperate for just a little bit longer! We met here last year around the same time and decided to come back since the scenery is so wonderful. And Henry is some of the best scenery I’ve seen! He has the most adorable head of curly hair!

Little Models

I always look forward to this time of year. Not only does it mean I get to put up my Christmas lights, but I also get to visit my favorite family! I have been photographing this family every year for their Christmas cards for the past four years. I have watched their children grow and mature into beautiful people! A little background info, Clay wasn’t into the whole picture thing last year. We were kind of dragging down his cool style by making him get dressed up and sit with his sister. Saige, on the other hand, has always been the perfect little model, and both her sides are her good side. But, low and be hold, this year was Clay’s year to shine!! He came out with his picture day smile on and he was ready to go! And, to top it off, they have the most photogenic dogs!

Dear Rain – thank you for coming

I know I’ve been preaching on here how much I LOVE the fall leaves and weather – and that’s all true and good. And deep down when I arrived at this family’s house in Bethel, I was dissapointed that it was pouring out. I envisioned this family playing and jumping in the leaves under the big tree in the backyard. I wanted to see all the orange and red trees lining the background of the pics. But I lost sight of what I REALLY came to photograph. It wasn’t the fall colors and scenery. It was the little snuggles and loud giggles of this little girl – trees or no trees – it didn’t make a difference the season. Yup, this worked out just fine. Thank you rain for coming today.
