Susan & Luis

Another great engagement session this week! I’m so excited about the weddings I’ll be shooting this year! All the couples Shaun and I have met with recently are so great. We’re in for such a fun wedding season.
I don’t think there was a better location to have had this session. Gillette Castle in East Haddam just seemed to fit them.
A little background – Luis and Susan are into performing and let’s just say they’re really good at it! I didn’t have to ask them to “do” anything. They just did it! They posed themselves, they hugged, they laughed and they joked around a little. Ok….a lot actually. But that’s just them. And I captured that quite a few times. I could have made this blog post just on the “out takes”. And believe me, it would have been hilarious!

Aren’t they naturals in front the camera?

SO here is how the next three pictures fit together.. follow the dialog below
Shaun: “Susan, you have amazing eyes!”
Susan: “Wow, thank you”
Luis: “Yes, she has bedroom eyes!”
Susan: Gives Luis that look that Shaun knows all to well (see second pic)
Shaun: “Oh, Jenn nailed that shot.. this is definite blog material”
Everyone: laughing (pic 3 of this series)

And THIS is my personal favorite…After taking pics outside, Shaun said “think we might be able to go inside?” We walked in and we were not welcomed with open arms. But I found this couch and HAD to use it. I got this shot by standing in the MENS bathroom doorway and dodging an usher or two. So worth it!!

Walking the Dogs….

Shaun and I met with Mike and Michelle for their engagement session this week. They brought along their two dogs to get in on the action – actually, they WERE the action! They ran all over the place, all over each other and swam in the river. It was hilarious! We managed to get a few shots of them before we ran out of treats!
The location they picked was a quiet walking path along the river in Farmington. Here’s a few favs:

I just loved the way Mike looked at Michelle, and he would always lean over and kiss her head. So sweet!

Shelagh & Matt

It was a nice, cloudy day in Mystic this past weekend where I had the pleasure of shooting Shelagh and Matt’s engagement session. They are such a perfect fit for each other! I had a great time during their session. And something tells me I’ll have a great time at their wedding next July too! :)
On a side note – they’re using some of these images for their custom photo guest book. Can’t you just envision their photos displayed in a beautiful, flush album with classic parchment paper for guests to sign their regards on? I can’t wait to get started on it!

* You will notice something different in this blog entry…..we’re doing something new. I have added a complete slideshow of all Shelagh and Matt’s images to this post. These slideshows will be making their appearance on here more frequently. I just LOVE the end result! Hope you enjoy this new feature too! Once you get to the end of the pics, click on the link.

Fun Engagement Session

This is one engagement shoot I never posted on the blog. I absolutely loved this session, I guess time just got away from me! The pics were taken at Hammonassett Beach and also Eli Cannon’s in Middletown. We went to the beach first (the beach is an important place to them) and then headed to Eli’s for some fun pics. I had a hard time going through these and picking a few out to post, I liked so many! They had a GREAT save-the-date made using the pics. The soon-to-be bride is very talented in many areas and one is photoshop. So, she took on the challenge of designing her own and sent one to me! I love the way they turned out. We are looking forward to a great time at the wedding in May!

Engagement Session in Meriden

So, I’ve been on the lookout for some graffiti for the past couple of months. I was on a mission presented by this couple & his love of graffiti. My search ended when I found an underpass in Meriden and thought that might be a good spot. A little dirty, kinda run down, but it made for great pics. I Love railroad tracks! These guys were great sports about it. They got into the session (after a bit of convincing!) and we had fun. I can’t wait to shoot their wedding in Sept. 09!
