A little bit about me -

My photography is all done on location. I work with my clients to choose a location that suits their family and will provide a great background for the pictures.

My style is a combination of photojournalism and creative portraiture. I love to capture natural expressions along with documenting life at that specific moment. Whether it's being silly, serious, blowing out the candles or walking down the isle.

My goal is to capture pictures you will look back on and smile!

Senior Session

Recently I offered a FREE session to the first 5 seniors who contacted me. I’ve done a few senior pics in the past, and would really like to offer a senior session as a regular part of my business. The thing I want to know is…what do seniors want? The reason I offered these free sessions is to get some feedback from the seniors and their parents to find out what kinds of products/pictures they are looking for. If you are an upcoming senior and looking for a photographer, leave a comment below and let me know what you’re looking for!

And now….meet Marla. She’s the carefree, beautiful, 2010 senior I got to photograph this past weekend. Luckily, her school doesn’t have any yearbook restrictions so she’s free to pick whichever photo suits her to grace the pages of her yearbook. Hopefully its a difficult choice. We headed to downtown Middletown for a few pics on Main St. and then over to Wesleyan University to get some shots on the beautiful campus. I picked the locations since she wasn’t sure where she wanted to do the pics and I think it turned out well. It’s fun to scope out new spots I haven’t used before! Shaun came along for help and, of course, got some great shots of his own. I think he’s a keeper.

You are my sunshine

On an overcast morning, Kendall was the sunshine of my day! All set to go in her yellow dress, she really stole the show. I’ve photographed her in the past (along with her WONDERFUL mommy and daddy) and this time was just as fun as the others. Her mom contacted me because Kendall’s going to be turning 2 and they wanted some pics to celebrate. She was looking for a rustic-type location and we settled on Main St. in Old Wethersfield. It turned out absolutely perfect! (as I’ve mentioned in the past, it’s one of my favorite spots!) Oh, in case anyone booking a session is wondering, a GREAT thing to bring along in case your kids get a little tired, bored or sick of pics? BACON! That’s right. They had some on hand because it’s Kendall’s favorite. She would actually give up that lollipop for bacon. Amazing. I seriously didn’t think she could get any cuter. But I’ve been known to be wrong before….

At Last….

I have known Ali since I first moved to Connecticut. She was the first friend that I made – she was the loving neighbor who came over to say “hi” and brought some cookies and flowers! We got to share being pregnant with our first children at the same time. She was a HUGE supporter of me when I started up my photography business, and still is. The one thing (but not the only thing!) I can tell you without a doubt is how GIVING of a person she is! Needless to say, I was more than happy when she asked me to be her wedding photographer. Of course, she just wanted me to take a few pics here and there and then have a nice time at the reception. I had a GREAT time on her wedding day and certainly took more than just a “few pics” like she asked.

We started the day out with some mimosas and a light lunch. Then Ali got ready and we headed to Wickham Park in Manchester to meet Aaron and do some Bride and Groom portraits before an evening wedding and reception at the Mill on The River in South Windsor. I just LOVE when the bride and groom decide to meet before the ceremony. It’s so intimate and romantic. They had a beautiful moment seeing each other for the first time and whispering in each other’s ear. (there’s me, wiping the tears in my eyes again!). The entire day exuded such LOVE and JOY that I don’t think I could wipe the smile off my face until long after I had left them. I had the HARDEST time narrowing down a few choices for this blog entry! So excuse the long post…..

I was thinking, it would be AWESOME to get this same shot on the day Abbey (Ali’s daughter) is getting ready for her own wedding!!

Good Golly Miss Molly!

It’s been over a year since my lens has seen sweet Molly. We met at Bushnell Park in Hartford CT this past weekend. They had a great idea to start the session out at the carousel there – for Molly’s first ride! She made my job easy. She’s cute and independant and absolutely LOVES animal crackers.

Shelagh & Matt Wedding.. Mystic Seaport, Connecticut

Matt & Shelah’s story began 15 months ago when they found each other (thank goodness for the digital age we live in!) and they found love! They had a beautiful wedding in Mystic Ct. followed by a wonderful reception at Mystic Seaport. The whole day was full of beautiful moments and the weather was perfect. I could go on and on but I think the pictures speak for themselves.

How many receptions do you go to and get candy? They put out an array of candies after dinner for their guests to enjoy – a selection of all their favorites and even had little bags for them to fill and take home. (Also, little side note, they ordered a guest book of their engagement pics for people to sign. And I must say, it turned out beautiful!)
