Thanks for checking out my blog!

I'm using this space to post recent work and updates at Jennifer Langdon Photography.

A little bit about me -

My photography is all done on location. I work with my clients to choose a location that suits their family and will provide a great background for the pictures.

My style is a combination of photojournalism and creative portraiture. I love to capture natural expressions along with documenting life at that specific moment. Whether it's being silly, serious, blowing out the candles or walking down the isle.

My goal is to capture pictures you will look back on and smile!

Feel free to roam around here, leave a comment or send me an email.  I look forward to capturing the moments in your life!

One summer evening

I feel very lucky to have had a session at the beach after just returning from vacation! It felt good to get my feet back in the sand.
This family is adorable – the two girls could be models and they all had the coolest accents! (I want to figure out how to get one of those….hmmmm)
One of the girls just had a very special event happen and her parents wanted to capture her during this momentous time. After that we headed to the beach for some family pics and the sun was definitely on our side. The light was gorgeous! Hope you guys enjoyed your ice cream afterwards!

VACATION

I just returned from a vacation on the Cape. Despite a bit of rain, it turned out to be a really nice week. I’m trying to get myself back into work mode – but it’s a slow transition. Laying on the beach, sipping sangria, listening to the sounds of the waves…..you get the idea. It’s hard to step back into reality. Sooo…I’m reliving it one last time in this post.

We stayed in a quaint beach house just a short stroll from the beach. Picture: a big inviting deck on the front of the house, a tire swing hanging on the back tree, beautiful wild flower gardens, and a large wood sided house that had windows that swung open like shutters. The inside was cottage – meets shabby chic. I couldn’t have thrown all the new modern elements together with the old antique pieces and made it look that good. I wish I could have bottled up all the cozy goodness and brought it home with me. Instead, I took a bunch of pics. Anytime I want to go back….I take a stroll through these. Oh, or I look at the 2 hermit crabs who found their way home with us. :)

July 4, 2009 - 10:57 am Taryn - What a great house! I love that kitchen and bedroom shot and of course A and E's! What a great beach too, awesome!

2 weeks old

I’m not really into taking pics out in the cold and rain, especially of newborns. It’s not my thing. But…..it just so happened that the sun was out (for once!) and there was great light outside so I decided we would go outside and shoot for a bit. The baby was just getting warmed up to the idea of having his picture taken – and it starts to sprinkle. Then we started losing sunlight. Plus it was getting cold – so cold, in fact, that he started shaking! Full body shakes!! I felt so bad keeping him out in the freezing cold JUNE weather that we had to go inside for the rest of the pics. I’m so sorry little “A”. I will do just about ANYTHING for a great shot, except that. I will never do that again, I promise. :)

June 29, 2009 - 9:24 am Alesha - I love the pics! I can't wait to have you capture more of him when he is a little older.

Do you like walking? How about photography? Friendly people?

Well, you can get all of this plus a fun evening out in New Haven if you decide to join Jenn and I for the 2nd Annual Scott Kelby Worldwide Photo Walk. on July 18th in New Haven from 5pm till….

I participated in this event last year in Hartford (see images below) and I had the best time!! You may be asking yourself, what the heck is a photo walk? A photo walk consists of a large group of people with cameras walking a set route taking pictures of anything that interests them. Landscapes, portraits, macro, still life, street photography, photojournalism, architecture. You can get it all on one of these walks! The best part is you get to meet a bunch of really FRIENDLY people who also like photography, like to take pictures and like to share ideas. At the end of the walk, everyone meets up to talk, look at the shots people have taken and have some food/drinks at a local establishment. Overall it is a wonderful time and Jennifer and I would like you to join us.

The special thing about this particular event is that you will be part of a worldwide event. You see, there are over 900 walks going on in cites all around the world on this same day. There is no sign up fee, there are no special requirements, all you have to do is walk and take pictures. It does not matter what kind of camera you have…. have a professional camera (come along), have a point and shoot (come along), have a cell phone camera (come along), have a film camera (does anyone still have one of these :) , come along). Come hang out with Jenn and I, take some pictures of lovely New Haven and treat yourself to a nice dinner afterwords!

Here is the link for the New Haven sign up (link) or feel free to use the link at the top of the post to find a walk near you. Jenn and I hope to see you in New Haven!!

Here are some of my pics from last years walk.
